  • Add potatoes, yam, and carrots, then bring to a boil.

  • Cook pork ribs, then add onions. Simmer until potatoes are soft.

Detailed Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 liters water

  • 1 whole clove of ginger

  • 6 cloves garlic, smashed

  • Light soy sauce (to taste)

  • Sugar (to taste)

  • 2 potatoes, peeled and chopped

  • 1 yam, peeled and chopped

  • 2 carrots, peeled and chopped

  • 1 lb pork short ribs

  • 2 white onions, sliced

  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Broth:

    • Bring 2 liters of water to a boil in a large pot.

    • Add the whole clove of ginger and smashed garlic.

    • Add light soy sauce until the flavor is strong enough, then stir in sugar to balance the sweetness. Bring back to a boil.

  2. Add the Vegetables:

    • Add the chopped potatoes and yam, bringing the mixture back to a boil.

    • Once boiling, add the chopped carrots and bring to a boil again.

  3. Cook the Pork:

    • Add the pork short ribs to the pot and bring it all to a boil.

  4. Finishing Touches:

    • Add the sliced white and green onions, and continue cooking until the potatoes are soft.

    • Once the potatoes are tender, the stew is done. Serve hot and enjoy!
